ANTI FOG~
INTRODUCTION
Most swimming goggles are now available with an anti fog system
Basically this is a
film
that is sprayed on the inside of the lens during manufacture
Please note most anti fog films have a life span - we have some customers who have trouble free usage for 2 years. But most films will last for 6 - 8 months
To see whether your goggles have it installed look at the inside of the lens in the light, as you twist them in the light you should see a rainbow effect!!
HOW IT WORKS
The
film's
properties is that it will attract water creating a second film hence stopping heated water (steam) from creating the fogging effect.
We all create heat when exercising, heating the water present inside the goggle - thus STEAM
WATER PART
It is advisable to use tap water to create the 2nd film, as the ANTI FOG film attracts water it will ALSO attract oils etc that may be present in your swimming pool water
HOW TO SOLVE COMMON PROBLEMS
1. STEAMING UP - This can be due to oils etc attaching to the Anti Fog Film. To solve use some washing up
liquid
and wet cotton wool balls or wet toilet tissue (
DO NOT use KITCHEN ROLL
it is abrasive and will scratch the ANTI FOG film off.
Rinse thoroughly and your goggles should be good for another few months
HOWEVER
If you have cleaned the steam off with your fingers then I'm afraid you will probably have scratched the Anti Fog film OFF - Either purchase a new pair or get a bottle of Anti Fog Liquid

GOGGLE ADJUSTMENT~
INTRODUCTION
Believe it or not 90% of goggles leak from the Nose Piece
How do we try to solve the problem of leaking goggles - We tighten the Head Strap which pulls the nose piece even further apart!!
HERE IS HOW TO ADJUST YOUR GOGGLES CORRECTLY - AND IN THIS ORDER
NOSE PIECE ADJUSTMENT
For goggles with adjustable or varied detachable sized nose pieces
1. Select or adjust the nose piece and put the goggles on (do not put the head strap on yet)
2. The goggles should slightly pinch on either side of the nose
HEAD STRAP ADJUSTMENT
For all goggles
1. Adjust the head strap so its fits loosely over the head
2. Push Off from the wall as hard as you can - head down
2a. You will never swim any faster that this (except for a dive)
3. If the goggles fall off - Slightly tighten the head strap until the goggles no longer fall off (this may take several attempts)
You will now have the best fit without the goggles being to tight
